The Hans Joachim Langmann Prize for Innovation is awarded in particular for topics in the natural sciences and related fields. The prize is awarded to individuals or teams of up to three members. Applications are open until April 7, 2026.

With a newly developed, compressorless gas turbine, researchers at the Institute for Thermal Energy Technology and Safety have achieved a record running time for hydrogen combustion and achieve a technological breakthrough toward a CO₂-neutral energy system. The turbine will be presented at the Hannover Messe trade fair from April 20 to 24, 2026.
