Through KBC matchmaking, the Institute of Functional Interfaces (IFG) and Evonik identified shared interests in chemical laboratory technologies. A series of meetings led to a formal cooperation agreement and the launch of a joint project in a short timeframe.

With support from KBC, the KIT project NaiS was connected with LBBW and the commune of Filderstadt to test an AI-based solution for evaluating building portfolios. Following successful pilot applications, the software is now set up for application in practice.

The program created new opportunities for KIT researchers to develop collaborative projects with ZEISS. The initiative led to eight seed-funded projects, new contacts and the creation of a dedicated innovation fund to support future joint initiatives.

To simplify the path from interest to collaboration, IRM, including KBC, together with IPEK institute, developed a matchmaking format connecting companies with researchers. The first pilot format demonstrated that the new approach accelerates the pathway from industrial request to collaborative project concept.
