Since November 2025, VEGA Grieshaber has been the newest member of the KIT Business Club corporate network, thereby intensifying its innovation-oriented exchange with KIT in order to identify further potential for cooperation. A warm welcome!

Diehl's Additive Manufacturing Competence Team visited KIT. The focus was on innovative manufacturing, quality management, and sustainability. Laboratory visits, presentations of spin-offs, and tours of the institute rounded off the program.

At a seminar for the Manufacturing and Materials Technology research area at wbk, Dr. Andreas Weddigen and Dr. Markus Bauer provided an overview of patents and support services for technology transfer at KIT and discussed questions from researchers.

The KBC fireside evening on September 23, 2025, provided the ideal setting for an in-depth exchange on value chains that need to become circular processes. Input was provided by keynote speeches and guided tours from the wbk and IIP as well as from the Schneider Electric and Evonik.

The call for applications for the annual funding program is open until October 24. This year, in collaboration with Carl Zeiss Vision GmbH, the focus of the program is on innovations in eyeglass lenses: coatings, materials, and lens shaping.

On July 23, 2025, KIT provided a delegation from Xiaomi with insights into various research projects related to artificial intelligence in connection with electric mobility. In addition to an exciting exchange, the delegation visited the House of Living Labs from and the Intuitive Robots Lab, among other places.

As part of Wissenswoche NEULAND, the KIT Business Club highlighted progress and challenges on the path to quantum applications. The day was filled with interesting contributions from science and industry.

On July 1 2025, the winners of the NEULAND Innovation Contest were honored. Three prizes were awarded in the Idea Award category and one prize in the Technology Transfer Award category.

The TA Conference on June 24 and 25, 2025, provided the transfer community with an opportunity to exchange ideas on “Transfer in a fast-changing world.” Thomas Kröner, Iris Kräuter, and Barbara Schmuker represented technology transfer at KIT, established contacts, and discussed current topics.

The KIT Business Club's Technology day navigated through the latest technologies, opportunities and challenges in robotics. The focus was on five robotics researchers from the KIT and their goal of improving understanding and communication between humans and machines.

At the beginning of May, experts in intellectual property law gathered at the VPP Spring Conference 2025. Dr. Ludwig Witter, Head of Intellectual Property Management at KIT, shared his knowledge during a panel discussion on “Efficient technology transfer by research institutes and universities.”

The KBC's partnership with E.G.O. has been transferred to parent company Blanc and Fischer. This is an exciting change for us: new topics, new fields of expertise and new contacts. Welcome and thank you for the exciting visit, Blanc and Fischer!

In February, Dr. Ingo Gaida from MIELE gave the technology transfer team an insight into the company's innovation processes. The exciting exchange in the morning was followed by further visits at EnTechnon, MVM and IPEK for more networking.

In order to jointly develop and strengthen digital innovations and to promote young talent in science and industry, KIT and IBM are further expanding their long-standing collaboration in a strategic collaboration.

The start-up Validaitor, a KIT spin-off, supports organizations and companies in implementing the new EU laws on the use of artificial intelligence. KIT has now decided to participate.

Schneider Electric is one of the youngest members of the industry network of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Dr. Markus Bauer and Viktor Wegelin visited the company at its development site in Marktheidenfeld to get to know each other better and to discuss initial activities for 2025.

The spin-off from KIT won over both the jury and the audience at the NEO2024 Innovation Award in Baden-Baden with its project for sustainable concrete recycling. Congratulations!

At the 14th Transferwerkstatt of the BMBF on November 14-15 in Bonn, there were a variety of discussions and practical reports under the motto “Creative Networks, Using Potential Together”. How everyday work can benefit from AI use was also of great interest to us.

On October 21, the Expert Round Table of the ZEISS Catalyst Program took place with the participation of the transfer team – with the aim of selecting the projects for the full proposals. In addition to presenting the proposals received from the KIT, the ideas were evaluated with ZEISS.

At the KIT Business Club fireside evening on September 24, 2024, representatives from over 10 companies and researchers met to discuss the chip and semiconductor industry and necessary changes.

KIT and Validaitor signed software license agreement. Our license manager Dr. Dirk Feuchter and Yunus Bulut, Managing Director of Validaitor, look forward to continuing their constructive cooperation.

In an online workshop for the POLiS Cluster of Excellence, Dr. Ludwig Witter and Dr. Aude Pélisson-Schecker gave the researchers a crash course in transfer. On Sept. 30, 2024, they provided an overview of technology transfer and the individual support offers at KIT.

Identifying ways to generate impact and value with one's own research: that was the goal of the one-day workshop held by Niels Feldmann and Markus Bauer on Sept. 19, 2024 with around 20 participants.

Business, science and politics met in Berlin to discuss measures for more successful technology transfer. Anke Weigel found out more on site..

Im Zentrum dieser Veranstaltungen standen drei unserer Experts, die faszinierende Einblicke in ihre Erfahrungen mit Start-ups, Selbstständigkeit und internationale Ökosysteme gaben. Es hat Spaß gemacht mit der heterogenen Gruppe an Teilnehmenden eine lebendige Diskussion zu führen.

On Thursday, January 16, 2020, more than 60 students of the KIT Faculty of Economics listened spellbound to what KIT alumni, who today work at Bosch, Daimler AG, SCHOTT, and TRUMPF, reported about their careers.

It was a great evening for networking, exchanging ideas and learning from each other - the enthusiasm was palpable on both sides!

Our member Klaus Hepp visited KIT with his colleague from Vulkan do Brasil on October 11.
The delegation from Brazil met our scientist Michael Heidinger and visited other KIT institutes. Thereby, plans for the future and joint cooperation were made.
