Abschließende Podiumsdiskussion "Kreislaufwirtschaft: Wunschdenken oder Zukunft der Wertschöpfung?"
Digitale Produktpässe, neue Geschäftsmodelle und modulare Designs gelten als zentrale Bausteine einer funktionierenden Kreislaufwirtschaft. Dennoch zeigt sich in aktuellen Debatten, dass rund 90 % der Aufmerksamkeit weiterhin auf das Recycling fokussiert ist – ein Ansatz, der zwar Verluste reduziert, aber kaum echte Wertschöpfung schafft. Warum gelingt es bislang nicht, Produkte so zu gestalten und zu nutzen, dass Reparierbarkeit, längere Lebenszyklen und datenbasierte Services zum Standard werden? Wie kann regionale Zirkularität gestärkt werden, um Importe zu verringern und lokale Wertschöpfungsketten zu fördern? Und welche Rolle spielen politische Rahmenbedingungen, wenn zugleich Branchen wie die Automobilindustrie oder Smartphone‑Hersteller aus Gründen der Performance zunehmend auf Modularität verzichten?
Welche strukturellen Hemmnisse eine nachhaltige Transformation hin zu kreislauffähigen Produkten bremsen und welche Impulse digitale Technologien für neue Wertschöpfungsmodelle bieten, diskutieren Expertinnen und Experten bei der öffentlichen Podiumsdiskussion.

Die Frühlingsakademie 2026 ist eine Projektwoche, die vier Tage von der Frage bestimmt wird „Was ist nachhaltige Kreislaufwirtschaft?“. Das Studium Generale. Forum Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft (FORUM) richtet die Projektwoche 2026 in Kooperation mit dem interdisziplinären Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB) 1574 „Kreislauffabrik für das ewig innovative Produkt“ am KIT aus. Zusätzlich ist sie in diesem Jahr eine Jubiläumsveranstaltung zu 10 Jahren EVTZ Eucor.
Mit einer öffentlichen Keynote, einem Forum Nachhaltigkeit, einer Vielzahl an parallelen Workshops und Exkursionen sowie einer abschließenden Podiumsdiskussion geht das FORUM diesen und weiteren Themen in der Frühlingsakademie Nachhaltigkeit 2026 nach:
Die Entkopplung von Ressourcenverbrauch und Wohlstand erfordert Alternativen zum linearen „Nehmen – Herstellen – Nutzen – Entsorgen“-Modell. Zirkuläre Ansätze versprechen Lösungen, werfen jedoch Fragen zur technologischen Umsetzung, zu ökonomischen Anreizen, zu politischen Rahmenbedingungen und zur systemischen Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung auf. Offene Fragen werden addressiert und Wege zu einer zukunftsfähigen Kreislaufwirtschaft diskutiert.
Die Frühlingsakademie richtet sich an alle, die sich für nachhaltige Entwicklung interessieren, und bietet die Gelegenheit, Bezüge zu Wissenschaft, Technik und Gesellschaft herzustellen sowie neue Perspektiven auf das eigene Fachgebiet zu gewinnen.
Die Keynote, das Forum Nachhaltigkeit und die Podiumsdiskussion sind öffentlich und können ohne Anmeldung besucht werden.
